I suppose punching her unconcious, so you could get on with the chase - without bleating in your ear would have been extreme?

There was a time when women knew their place

hmmmm scooby with four wheel drive? in corners, its gonna crap all over an alfa. wish it wasnt the way but it is!

i reserve my boy racer moments for upsetting 3 litre deisel bmw's...they hate being passed by a 1.9 deisel (remapped)

always ensure you slow down so they can see how small your engine is with the boot badges! ;)

no honestly im a mature driver, ahem.......

I am not allowed to drive fast with my GF in the car either. I may as well have a 1.1 litre Fiat Panda, for the speeds I am allowed to do.

A few years ago I had an MR2, me and my girlfriend at the time had been away for the weekend for my work crimbo party, she had fallen asleep abut 10 mins after putting her westlife CD on :( and I was bored driving along until some one past me in an Escort RST. I thought im not having that and proceded to follow him, over taking when safe. We were moving along 'briskly' when my girlfriend woke up, looked around and asked how fast we were going
I replied what now or before you woke up?

She didnt see the funny side of it.

When I had my C172, Boxsters were easy meat, esp when driven by those who thought buying a Porsche gave them other-worldly driving skills, to make up for their car's lack of go-go-go.

At the end of one six mile dual carriage way stretch, during which va-va-voom had given its best, exasperated and defeated Boxster driver looked at the innocuous looking Clio 2.0 next to him, leaned across and asked: 'what engine you got in that then?'

'oh, it's just a 1.4', I said lying through my teeth.

His face was an absolute treat.

Boxsters exist only to amuse Clio 172s. The 172 is a complete scream of a car :)

pulled over on the motorway yesterday to let one past that had come tear-arsing up my backside a few moments earlier. only when i saw it from behind did i realise it wasn't a 172, just a boggo clio with the renaulsport bodykit. so i opened the taps and redressed the balance:D

:)

but be very wary of the sleeper Clios, bud. They might look like a holiday rental, but the 172/182/192s have the heart and lungs of a famished bear looking for lunch  :)

I had a burn up on a dual carriageway with a 172 clio when I had my 145 QV. The clio only just edged ahead at higher speeds.

You should beat one easily in a V6. In a straight line anyway.

oh no boss; it is not 'just' a Clio. It's been breathed on by people who understand chassis, steering, damping, braking and power to weight ratio.

Remember; Renault doesn't build the 172, Alpine does in Dieppe.

Granted, the 172 looks like Mickey Mouse from the front; granted the engine lacks an Alfa's music, and granted it doesn't win the popular vote. But beneath the rental car looks, lies an engine, chassis and drive-train optimised to an electric level.

'Speak softly...and carry one hell of the mother of all sticks', is the 172's motto :)

No shouty-shouty bonnet stripes. No massive (optional) driving lights. No slame-dunk suspension. No chintzy bling wheels. No poncy roof.

RenaultSport Clios wear their dynamic brilliance within their critical components; not in their visual dressing.

Heh, don't get me wrong g I know they're impressive - it just gets on my wick a bit that a little French hatch can come along and so easily wee all over a lovely Alfa with its beautiful Italian lines and so on... I'm rambling really, I can't really put what I'm thinking into words... maybe because it's nearly midnight... maybe because it's just silly........ I'm sure someone reading this knows what I mean though.

No? No-one?

Oh well...
