Not the bible lot, just people named Gideon.

WTF?

I'd never trust anyone called Gideon.
Especially when it comes to financial transactions or questions of taxation.

:tut:

Even if they changed their name by deed poll, you could
still tell they were a Gideon. They can't hide their nature.

Not very PC, but there you go. :)

Who the **** lookedat a baby born after about 1868 and thinks "Let's call him........Gideon. He looks like a Gideon"

Though to be fair, the Gideon we are currently saddled with does look like a right erm, Gideon.

in Pinocchio? Proof, if needs be ...

My brother taught Radio presenter Gideon Coe to ride a bicycle. He was very complimentary on his radio show the next week. For that reason, I disagree with your Gideon theory.
He wrote this "“Wobbly life on two wheels has been experienced - thanks
to a brilliant teacher. Onwards!”

I wouldn't buy stuff from any old Tom, Dick or Harry.

Broader subject I know, but in terms of poor name choices I have to say that anyone nowadays who opts for Gideon or Rupert for a boy needs shooting. Both are now very clearly by-words for chinless shysters.
