Just a quick one, if one gear is harder to select and grinds, whats that likely to be? selector? The rest of the box is perfect.

syncro ring will be the problem, the forks and selector sleaves all operate 2gears each, so if its only one thats grinding then it has to be the syncro(baulk)ring or the syncro leading edge of the gear itself.

Top man. Is it a big / costly job? Dealer is supposed to be doing it as Ive only just changed the Cloverleaf for it, but it would be interesting to know.

Dealer fixing it? :cheese: Your brave/ have deep pockets/ want another mortgage? I think it will likely cost a few hundred especially when they recommend selector forks/selector rods/ inner syncro ring/ outer hubs on the first 1st, 2nd and 3rd. I'd probably just find another box. I'd get some sort of estimate first. Just remember though, an estimate is just that, not a quote!

You misunderstand. I collected it and it started doing it almost immediately so they say they will sort it. We'll see and I'll let you know how I get on.

Glad to hear you won't have to fork out for it. Do obtain some kind of report though, as jimmybob says, you really should have some paperwork detailing the repairs.

No not yet, but by the end of the week. Its a specialist Ive been using for a few years, and always treated me well with the Cloverleaf so Im not expecting anything different. Dont worry I gave up on the authorised network some years ago, which is a shame.
