Does anyone know if there is a guide to removing a gearbox from a 156 2.0jts as I suspect the clutch slave cylinder is defective and alfa appear to have this component nice and simple to access!!!  I have aquired (I mean brought) the dte workshop cd for a 1.8, 2.0ts & 1.9jtd is it a simular process?
Also is there any specialist or odd sized tools required to do this job? or will the normal sockets, spanners, drivers etc do the task?
Many thanks

You'll need to remove the passenger side driveshaft, this is not easy, alot of the suspension needs to be stripped, so you'll need something to remove a couple of ball joints.

Everyone says you need to drop the subframe but you don't have to, I didn't.

Yeah, everyone says you need to, I didn't have to though. It was hard to work it out and even harder to put it back in but i'd do it the same way if I ever had to do the job again.
