Hello 166 owners. My car is in great shape except for the gear shift knob (cant see the numbers anymore). Where can i get a new original knob? Is it easy to replace the knob myself? Is it just to spin off the old one and spin on the new one? Thanks
That would be me. Still looking good as well..:thumbs:somebody has reported good results with shoe scuff coat....
 Yep, done that !the wee screw is under a mini alfa badge but if its the standard round knob it is a pull it till you punch yourself in the face job....
Hello,OK, I just removed the little alfa badge on the gear shift knob, removed a little black blob of sillicone that held on the badge and found no screw there at all, just metal. Then i drank a Red Bull and used all the power that i could to pull the knob off but it was stuck rock solid! I guess i need special factory tools to remove it. So no point in buying a new one if i cant get off the old one.
had a look and the eper isn't helping much - just lists loads of knobs....some at scary prices! I guess the 5m or 6m is for the 5 or 6 speed manuals?
Thank you!!I have just had mine replaced & have the packaging in front of me. Yes the ePER number is the same, item description (in Italian) is Kbob Leva Cambio (In Pelle Traf) which is the open leather version. Cost £114 though!
