Anybody on here know what the garage labour time is for fitting one gear selection cable on a 156 v6,as i reckon i'm being overcharged(6 hours)i know its a pain of a job!!! i just didn't have the time myself.

That sounds a bit much for in a garage environment. If you were doing it on your drive or something then given where they are etc then 6 hours would be about right.

I'd think more like 3-4 for a garage?

Thats about what i thought,but at £50 an hour it soon adds up!!!!

Ouch, where did you take it that is charging you 50 notes an hour?
