What's the best gear oil for a 6 speed with Q2?

The reason why I ask is because I was at the point of purchasing a fully synthetic, GL5 gear oil from Castrol, 75W90, which said "For use in all gearboxes and transaxles that do not use limited slip differentials".

So... Why can't I use this and what can I then use? Please state Castrol if possible as I'm in South Africa and we may not have the other gear oils available locally.

The mention of LSD is that most use friction.
That doesn't apply to Torsen/Q2 type diffs.

But isn't the GTV box spec'd with GL4, not GL5?


If it was mine I'd use Redline MT90.

If I use GL5 instead of GL4 will it be detrimental?
GL5 oils are all thinner when colder despite the 75W rating of all of them.

Synthetic-based oil, grade SAE 75W-85
that passes API GL-4 PLUS, FIAT 9.55550

Same as non-Q2.
