i have to really really try and then it does. slightly difficut in 2nd too. 3rd and 4th no problem whatsoever. the clutch pedal felt hard push a couple of times . but 95% of time pedal is fine.

have contacted garage and they said need to change clutch. £375

the problem is i have already ordered my next alfa but it is only being delivered in Sept, so want to squeeze a few months life of the 145 without too much expense.

any ideas what to do?

THANKS!

I agree with the garage that its with the clutch - I drove around with mine being also quite heavy until I had it replaced - quite nice now.

I don't know of any quick fixes there, its a question now of a) can YOU live with it? b) will someone buy the car off you like that? c) will the next guy be able to live with it?

Thanks for the advice Gertie - is it likely to completely break down and leave me on the road though... Like I have to go London-Nottingham in a few days and am even contemplating to rent a car...
