Hi

Looking for some recommendations as to where I should get my Giulietta serviced as the Authorised Dealer I used to use (Allams) isn't one anymore.

Alfa UK wrote suggesting Motor Village - but that's in a rather painful place to get to for me then to get to work so I'm considering independents.

Was toying with Kinghams - but a couple of reviews have put me off - but I'm interested to hear from anyone who uses them.

Also was considering DTR European Sports Cars in Coulsdon - but struggling to find any reviews on them?

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated - Thanks :)

I think the lack of replies is down to the fact we can't think of a main dealer we could happily recommend..!

I live in Guildford and could not consider Bishops as an option, so if I HAD to go to a main dealer I think it would be Rusper at Faygate, they get decent reviews and I have a mate who uses them for his Mito without issue.

Hi

Sorry if I wasn't clear in my opening post - but I'm considering independents as well as dealers

oh, easy then, I drive all the way down to Autolusso in Bournemouth. Seems a long way but its quicker than going round to Ned in Luton as the A31-M3 is a straight run that normally takes me about an hour and twenty..Loz and the chaps have always done a fantastic job for me, I do go Ned for some things as well, they are fitting my new SMF and GTA clutch on the 6th as well as custom mapping...

I could also recommend AHM in Hartley Wintney if you want somewhere a bit nearer...depends how far south/west you are in the county TBH, if you are Reigate way for example then Ned at Autolusso Luton makes much more sense as you are right on the M25..

Thanks for the recommendation :thumb: but to be honest I was hoping to find something a bit closer to home than Bournemouth - that would take me 2 hours each way.

Surely there must be someone close by, say Junction 8 of M25 that people would recommend?

Hwm walton? Replaced the multiair head on my mito without too much quibbling , although it was about a month out of warranty. They are polite and reasonable

Thanks for taking the time to reply. However, if you look at some old threads around here you will see I've posted about my experience with the original Monza Sport (which was a trading name for a company called Select Vehicles Contracts Ltd - or at least something like that) - before they went bust and a new 'Monza Sports' opened up at the same location - although I think someone else now operates from there.

Of course, Monza Sport and Monza Sports Tuning are different companies - although Bryn Griffiths was also involved in the one I dealt with - and I personally wouldn't have anything further to do with him.

There is no John Griffiths associated with Monza Sport Tuning who are now based in Ashington West Sussex and a Subaru dealer, Alfa Romeo, Fiat and Arbarth service agents. An Experian search shows they are sound financially. More importantly, Keith, the service manager, has been associated with Fiat/Alfa since the early 90's at Tates in Portslade. It was at Tates where Kevin their top tech started his apprenticeship and has since always worked on Fiat/Alfa. Whilst you may have had a sour experience with the previous company you would be missing an opportunity for great knowledge and experience with the workshop staff. I believe Keith and Kevin were not at Cowfold.

No, but Bryn Griffiths is and its the same Bryn Griffiths as who was with the first Monza Sport where his brother John Griffiths also worked at the time I dealt with them.

I'm pleased to hear that they now appear to be employing good people, and I'm sure there are customers who are happy with them - but considering Bryn Griffiths is a director of them I certainly won't be taking my car there.

There is another Alfa Specialist who I think took over the premises at Cowfold and as far as I know they have no connection with either of the Bryn Griffiths companies - and I would wish to make that clear.

Kevin, I fully understand your reasons for not wanting to use Monza Sport Tuning. But your experience was some time ago in very different circumstances which may have affected your situations, whos to say. I must make it clear, I have known Keith and Kevin for some considerable time well before they joined Monza Sport Tuning and I'm sure they would not have anything to do with anyone who conducts business in a disreputable way. More recently I have come to know Bryn and I cannot speak highly enough of the thoroughly ethical way he conducts his business. The support I have received which his company provided has is quite uncommon in this day and age. I have often said, even if I did not like Alfa Romeos I would feel very happy having Monza Sport Tuning as my motor dealer of choice. We have already bought one car from them and they will be facilitating the supply of my Giulia.

I very much hope you do get sorted out with a garage to support you. HMW in Walton provide a lot of support to the AROC Surrey section, so I'm sure it will be in their best interest to provide you with the service you deserve.

Rather belatedly, I'd second this. Used them regularly a few years ago and reckon they are knowledgeable and trustworthy. Also, you can go under the ramp with them to discuss your bits, rather than leave the car at a main dealer's reception and never meet the people who do the work.
Thanks, I'll certainly be contacting them :)

Rusper and MDZ

I have used Rusper a couple of times in the past and the did a very good job, one was a cambelt change which made a significant difference to the car.

Before I was using Sidlow near Gatwick but I think they are no more, and anyway I couldn't recommend them.

I currenlty use MDZ Italtec in Charlwood, so that's not too far from Reigate either.

The guys dad also sometimes makes an appearance, and he used to service my dads 1750GTV 30 odd years ago.

What's wrong with Bishops? I've never used them... (average age of my cars is 29 years.. so not really main dealer realm)... but they seem fairly reasonable/organized from the public side of the counter.
