Hi Guys

Anyone got any recommended garages in the Preston area that would be capable of doing a cam belt, water pump and variator job without charging the earth?

If they collect aswell this would be awesome, and i know im asking for the moon on a stick :lol:

Could pop to Ferdi's in Lytham - ~30 mins on a train. Never used him as I'm down south now (I'm from there) but he's probably your nearest Alfa specialist and comes highly recommended.

Thanks guys,

I have arranged to take it to Ferdis, Will pop up a review of the place once the job has been completed. So far its looking really good as where has most garages have sounded confused with the word "variator", the guy i spoke to didnt. Plus rather than just booking me in and telling me how much to pay hes asked for me to get the car up there so they can actually investigate and do whats needed.

Used Ferdi for a new clutch, flywheel and rear shocks. Very good, showed me old bits and talked me through everything. Nice to find a garage where they're so enthusiastic.

Ferdi is very good, but I'd caution you, a perfectionist. Most of my section members who use him always come back spending more than they expected as he always recommends correcting any slight fault......

They mostly go back to him, though, which says a lot!
