I haven't seen a thread so apologies if you've already picked up on this but did you see the small article in October Classic & Sports Car citing the 155 as a future classic? Cheap now, buy while you can, lots of rubbish but some minters for not a lot of money.

Cheers, welcome to the classic ranks chaps!

note what im driving on the left????:D
Clearly a man of impeccable taste, unfettered foresight and a mischievous setter of guess the car features.:D
less of the big words, i have to go google them :D
oh how true!

when i first seen the car, i really was not sure about the shape!
(when my mate first bought it! and i was in a golf gti mkIV)
but over time i developed a passion for it while it was still his!
then when he decided he wanted a 156 2.5v6 i jumped at the chance of owning it!

now am the proud owner of a beautiful 155 2.0TS 16v widebody!:D
Never mind... it'll do until you find a nice Skinny! :D

They'll certainly be a classic but limited imho, I'm not convinced they'll gain "full" classic status like Spiders for example. but, they will have a strong, but small, following....kinda like 75s.

I love 'em :D

The 155 is a great, and terribly underrated, car :) :) :)
It's a great car from many points of view. I own a 155 1.8 TS 16V. You can drive it easy and get great gas mileage. You can drive it (reasonably) hard and its 140BHP give you great sensations and superb engine sound. The suspension is comfortable yet the steering is precise, and it comes with a good gearbox and superb steering wheel. It's very habitable, the trunk is huge. Its looks are very distinctive, I am a big fan of the widebody look. Parts are available. And it can be had for not much money, partly since the 156 was such a success.
AR will kill it, don't worry.

Some parts now are starting to become unavailable. I had a front n/s brake pipe on back-order for a year... and there's only 2 wheel-arch liners in the country.

It can't be too much to stock a few parts, can it? :(

Guess I need to start a business selling 155 parts which I'll get from breakers in and around Naples then... ;)

ralf, much prefer the fatter version, dont like cars on diets:lol:
seriosly though you have a stunner!!
I love my 155 1.8ts and taken it on holiday with me more than a few times, but at 130,000 miles it is getting a bit tired and i am needing to do more and more to keep it going, and if the parts are going to disappear, will i make it to 330,000 miles.
mine has 130k on it and still pulls like a freight train:D
