In between laminate flooring escapades last weekend I managed to get out with Molly the collie for a couple of hours and took the camera.

Locked, loaded and ready to go

Wombles ready in case anyone loses a wheeltrim on the M60

Another river crossing, this time a disused aqueduct

These two fellas are guarding the old Pilkington's tile factory visible from the M60. I've seen happier dogs but the RSPCA say the conditions they are kept in are up to standard.

More disused canal.

Then we pass under the railway and head into Clifton Country Park. This looks like it has been a wooded area for ever but was actually the site of a colliery which once featured on one of Fred Dibnah's programs.

The wet earth colliery was one of the first pits in the country and is well worth reading about if this sort of thing floats your boat.

If you live in Bolton and have a dump now and then, it probably ends up here.
