alfa romeo spider lusso mot november 2016 hi for sale is my spider good running order recent cambelt change its previously had engine and gearbox removed stripped and rebuilt new piston rings big end shells new recon cylinder head and new timming belt kit new cluch and master head cylinder fitted at a cost of 1430 from alfa romeo specialist ital autos . its a 2.0 litre but badged up as 3.0 and definatle looks the part i have had an 4 pot clay ragazzoni exhauste put on at a wopping cost but sounds beatiful i have recently added the roll bars brand new at a cost of 250 clarion head unit last mot had weldind done on the sills 500 pound spent an absolute fortune on it . 18 inch alloys with nearly brand new tyres full gtv kit bad bits one of the pulley bearing needs changing only cheep to buy 25 pound still runs perfect small crack on back window plastic 5mm the hood is in perfect condition apart from small tear but not much notisable and paintwork could do with a polish slight problem with the cental locking but ive got a brand new cental locking and alarm in box that comes with it i hope ive been as honest as possible any questions just ask sorry to c her go just bought another car so of she goes happy bidding on a very good looking spider not many left a classic relisting got to go this time if not going to put it in storage and pull it out in five years and sell it for 7000

It been re-listed, it was in the same name last time but only reached £1020 the reserve wasn't met. I think it looks quite nice but I'm not sure how it would stand, badged as a 3.0 when it's only a twinnie, what would police make of that when checking insurance details, that could be fraudulent?:devious:

Lol! I have seen this spider, it looks two different shades of silver lol, i wonder if it was a cam belt failure with having all that engine work done yet it needs a £25 pulley mmmm?

I agree the advert is rambling etc etc. My question was in regard to the wooden steering wheel and geat knob in terms of style and whether it suits a spider. I didn't think it would be get such a response.
In response to Alex, English is of course still taught in schools in the UK, however in many areas there are many children in very mixed classes. English is a second language to the majority of those children. My friends children attend a school where there are over 65 different languages spoken. New Zealand is a million miles from that situation.

Sorry if I disrupted your thread! Mind you, I thought that was a different thread - and I did comment there. I thought the wooden steering wheel and gearknob gave it a classical look, think it might hark back to the Lotus Elan, Triumph TR6, etc. not sure if that is what the 90's style of the 916 Spider is all about. Personally, I think an Alcantara steering wheel covering would be more appropriate - and an aluminium gearknob/handbrake grip.

As for this thread - which I think was entertainment value only - I agree that there are many people for whom English is a second language, but (and I could be wrong), I don't think they're the culprits when it comes to the poor standard of writing on eBay, etc. I have a feeling it's the native speakers of English - innit

Alex you always come across as a very nice helpful guy. You are probably right about the ad, but I know from my friends that sometimes school is not so straight forward as it was back in the day, when I went to school.

The first auction it sold for £1200 then a little drop in value
The second auction it sold for £1000

Then the advert at buy it now at £1500

But looking at the new add this future classic is starting to increase in value already as looking at the add today....
