hi there
heres a thing for ya.
we have just come back from a fantastic holiday in mexico.
we went on the usual trips and stuff and spoke to a lovely bloke called alex a mexican tour guide and we were talking about mexico and england and comparing stuff and the talk got to the economy and stuff.
mexico does not have any industry and does not produce anything other than petrol and diesel which they sell to the U.S.A.
so the talk gets to price. bare in mind ours is £1.40 a litre he was horrified.
i had noticed that most of the cars on the road were old american V8s trucks and vans etc.then he said you can fill the tank on one of these cars for 50-60 pesos sounds a lot but that is about £3-£4 (17.5 pesos to the pound)for a tankful of fuel and he also said that if you go to venezuela you can fill up for 1 dollar, about £1.60. if countries as poor as these can sell petrol that cheap it just goes to show really how much we are being ripped off.
cheers
