So the front drivers side wheel has developed a grinding/rubbing noise only when I turn (mainly right, but also when I turn left). When driving straight, I can't hear or feel nothing at all.

What should I be checking to find out what the problem is?

Have you had the brakes looked at recently?

Outer cv. Check for play. Quite often the gaiter fails lets in dirt and then the joint fails. Manifests as a noise that is only apparent on turning. Sometimes a speed related ticking. Worse on full lock.
