and eek! eek! under heavy breaking!!!

Seriously, the car will wander under heavy breaking from speed. Peter is correct, there is also "clonking" often when going over speed humps and uneven ground.

I had mine replaced in March didn't have any of the above syptoms, but I did wear out the inside edge of a set of tyres in 1 yr (5000 miles) :( and the garage had said tracking was spot on. I'd asked them to check the wishbones on the service, at first they said they looked ok, but on replacing the front disks they decided they did need swapping. £70's each.

Give alfashop a ring, they supply them for about £30 .. much easier on the pocket.

Braking is a good test. Drive downhill and brake reasonably hard. The steering will try to wander around although you will be able to brake straight, still. The wander is a feeling a bit like the grip from the front wheels is right on the limit and about to skid - kinda like you are braking very hard when actually you aren`t.
