I recently replaced the front struts on my 3.0 spider, and struggled getting them back and line the spring up with the top cup. The main problem being that i could not get enough compression on the spring with the compressors i have. The question is there a technique or a more appropriate tool.

Non of the tools work very well unless you have the c cupped spring compressor. There is just a knack to doing it

I took my new dampers and springs to a local tyre/suspension depot that had hydraulic machines for assembling the parts. 10 mins later they were all back together. Best £10 I ever spent.
