Hello,
I want to change my front discs and pads, attempted it a few years back but they began tightening and had to take it in to my specialist, told me there was a plate that hadn't been placed in position correctly, I've always replaced discs and pads on my cars and feel a bit annoyed that I have to pay over £400 for the privilege, so if there's a guide available or a step by step approach for 330mm brembos, would save me a bit of cash?

Thanks

Is this on the front of a GTA? Its about an hour's work for a mechanic. So we'd charge £50 plus whatever the cost of the parts are.

If you need a guide to change the front discs & pads then I think you should probably reconsider doing them yourself, brakes are vitally important, you don't want to make an error putting them back together. Take the wheel off and have a look at the caliper, if you can't immediately tell what needs to be done, then take it to a mechanic.

I did mine last year, really not very difficult or different to most front brakes. As Pud says - take lots of photos of the old ones before pulling them apart, so you make sure everything goes back together as they should. There are also a few videos on youtube of course which help.

Thanks for your replies, have a friend of a friend who’s a mechanic who has agreed to do them, for £70 so will go for that.
Thanks
