Hi members, not sure if anyone has suffered with this but for ages I have had a really annoying buzzing sound from behind the dashboard in my 159 jtdm. It seemed to be connected with when I accelerate as it would come or go (depending on the day) when I put my foot on the accelerator. A garage that changed my steering rack thought it was linked to the PAS pump which also needed a change.

Anyway, I took it to Rusper Alfa Romeo for the pas pump to be changed after reading a recommendation on here, but I was extremely happy that Rob and Dave there diagnosed that annoying buzzing sound. It wasn't the pump as the previous garage though but the fuel line, the end of the line resonated with this buzzing sound as the fuel runs through it. A slight move of position sorted the sound out and now I can drive headache free!

Have to say that Rob and Dave at Rusper really impressed me with my first visit, needless to say I am willing to travel to them again from France for anything else I need, can't thank them enough!

I have this occasionally and had read about how the fuel pipe may be the issue... There was a thread about this previously, I was told that the same happens with 147 jtdm models and that there were new pipes available which resolved the noise issue.. mine hasn't done it for quite a while but used to find that moving the pipes about a bit used to help for a short time...

Hi
Could you explain where abouts in the engine bay I can find this so I can sort mine out please?

I have this buzzing sound on tick over, when I touch the accelerator it goes, but if I try to look in engine bay for where the sound is coming from, the noise of the engine is too loud so I can't work out where it's coming from

Thanks
