With VW set to simply 'brand' their new F1 (prost) team as Skoda (their motor racing arm apparantly??) Would it be silly if Fiat Auto group rebranded their disused Ferrari power plants as Alfa Romeo to keep the brand name at least where it belongs.

Is it Sauber who use these at the minute?

I mean Asiatech's are Peugeot, Jaguar use Ford engines. But the brand name gets out there.

Alfa cancelled the F1 programme when Fiat took over. I know this sound a tad fanciful, but it would be great to see it back on the grid.

That is a brilliant idea.....surely someone in Fiat must have already thought of it.....!!???!! I mean how much can a new crank cover cost ro produce....?

Maybe we should start a web petition up or something......it would be great to see Alfa back on the grid.....sick of cheering along the Ferrari's just because they are related....

Yeh. How do we organise a petition? Or maybe we could send a queery to Fiat Auto and ask what the official line on it is?

Mama Fiat wouldn't be happy if racing hero Ferrari got usurped by brother Alfa on a track...I guess this might be why we not see Alfa on an F1 circuit so long as it is owned by Fiat. Politics schmolitics.
