Has anyone else experienced this?

The bulbs just flicker all the time. Ive taken them out now, but want to figure what was wrong so i can get them back in.

I changed the fuse at the fuse box for a 10amp too to hopefully resolve the issue, but no such luck.

If you have an original halogen bulb, swap one side back to halogen and see if the flicker has gone. The halogen would flicker too if the issue was with the car. Also use a multimeter to measure battery voltage. If that is unstable, the peaks/trough could cause the flicker.

If the halogen stays stable and the battery voltage is stable then you know the fault is with the HID kit.

Yes the halogens are fine. i have them fitted now, after taking the hid kit out.

would you say this is down to the actual hid ballast?

HIDs are a different animal to halogen. As the halogens are working fine, with no trace of flicker, I'd suggest buying a new set of HIDs off of flea bay. They are only about £25 delivered. Stick them in and see what happens.

Flickering HIDS is generally caused by:

1, Lamps on their way out
2, Ballasts on their way out
3, poor supply to the ballast
