need a bit of help here... the 159 now lives on the driveway and virtually never gets used, so the battery has been going flat regularly. the battery has been on its way out for a while but jump-starting has always worked straight away with no problems. until tonight - opened up ok, got the jump leads out and hooked it up to the company car, but the key won't even go into the ignition on the alfa properly so i can't even get the ignition on. central locking won't work on the fob, nothing.

any ideas why the ignition slot doesn't seem to want to accept the key fob, and how to sort it?

me neither. it goes in to begin with but not the final few mm that locks it in place and switches the ignition on

just tried that - and that'll only go half way in as well
Sounds like its stuck in the "key in position" for some reason.
If you flip the flap back and look down it with a torch can you see the little peg sticking out the side that holds in to the key to stop it falling out ?

Don't know how hard you dare push or what damage it may do.
Sorry don't know any more that will help.
