Can a change of the head unit cause flashing odometer. And if it can how do you fix this coz it is not very likely to put back your old head unit just to fix the odometer?

Also is it possible that a faulty light causes the flashing odometer or it is something that the ecu shows?

A flashing odometer usually signals that the canbus is rot receiving a signal back from one of it's nodes. Did the problem start when you changed the headunit?

You will probably need a proxy alignment, that fixes the above canbus error.

What is a proxy alignment and can I do it myself using alfadiag?
Basically the tech will connect an examiner to the system, it will then find the fault and reset all the electronic wizardry.

I'm not sure if alfadiag can do it.

There are loads of threads on this. Try a search for "proxy alignment" ;)
Actually I tried and all I could find was threads related to flashing odometer. I could not find explanation about what proxy alignment is. I will try again.

I thought alfadiag could do it... It seems I will have to visit a tech.
