Basically I have a giulietta 1.4 Veloce multiair 2011. I bought the car the way it was. I will explain below. The only thing I fixed is I replaced the weak (non agm or efb) battery with a brand new EFB battery to make it compatible with the start and stop feature on the car. But even after replacing the battery, the start and stop still does not work.

So now to the point, I have an issue with the blue n me system not working; the USB and aux do not work, and the windows button on the steering wheel doesn't work so no voice commands or anything. The only thing that works is the radio and probably the cd (haven't got a cd to test with) and the volume control on the steering button also works. When I change source it comes as 'No Source available'.

Along with this, the mileage (odometer) is flashing, which after doing some research, I conclude is related to the blue n me issue. I read that it is to do with the computer of the car is not recognising a device in the car so it needs some kind of proxi (proxy) alignment.
Does anyone have any idea how much this would cost? Does anyone know anyone in London or around London that can do this for a good cost? I travel across London a lot, especially North west London to southeast London. I am also willing to travel out of London into the Essex or Kent side (Dartford, Gravesend area)

Also, if I want to do it myself, what device can I use? I know I need the full software called multiecuscan. (Correct me if I am wrong but the free version won't work).
I read that ELM 327 would work (again correct me if I am wrong) but I also read that some would need adaptors to do proxi alignment. If so, which adaptor would I need for proxi alignment?

Multi-Ecu Scan Modified

Would this be sufficient?

Emphasis on the fact that I'm asking for tools to do a proxi alignment on my Giulietta

That is the cable that I have with a fully, with a now probably expired version of multiecuscan because the 1 year subscription is up!

I've never actually had this issue where the canbus system requires resetting to clear this kind of error and most people do seem to have to take a trip to the dealers but, coincidentally, a couple of days ago, I did read, somewhere, either on here or in a facebook group, that someone had used multiecuscan to complete a reset of the canbus system - flashing odo, no blue and me etc etc.

I'm sure there are more knowledgeable people than me, but there's my two penneth. Multiecuscan and a cable are a very useful tool to have, just in case.

In answer to some of your questions:

Yes, you would amost certainly need to buy the full version of MultiECUScan. It's €50 and the license lasts forever for the version that you download.

I've not tried it, but proxi alignment does appear to be on the menu of the full version. Whether this solves the blue&me issue is another matter.

You need a modified ELM 327 adapter as per the one in your Ebay link but I believe you need the coloured adapter cables as well to work on anything other than the engine. You'd be better buying a complete kit with ELM adapter & cables for around ÂŁ30. Confirm with the seller first they they are suitable for your car.

Could could try doing a software update to the Blue&Me. Go to the B&M website and follow the instructions. It's fiddly, may not work first time and your car could end up speaking Italian to you! I've even managed to get a working car into the flashing odometer mode but a re-install fixed it so may be worth a try. The latest version 10 worked much better with my phone.

Sorry I haven't got a definitive answer.

I thought that it was a 12 month licence, but having just checked my email from last year, in actual fact, it is 12 MONTHS FREE UPDATES so thanks for pointing that out.

Of all the diagnostic softwares available that I have used over the years, opcom for Vauxhall/opel, VAGCOM for vw's, multiecuscan is by far the best.

Had all these issues today. My mechanic scanned it and I also called a dealership mate about it. Basically the Blue&Me modules start dying after 5 years and need to be replaced. They are VIN coded so must come out of Italy specifically for my car. AUD1200+labour. After installation a proxy alignment must be done. The module is located to the left of the radio behind the polished trim. You have to get a new module to stop the flashing odometer as nothing else will. Other issues with the Giuliettas are the water pump and the hatch wiring will start to break due to badly designed wire hangers (you will know when your back lights, boot open warning light and wipers die or start playing up)

I had the same issue in Sydney.
I ordered on ebay blue&me module from wracked giulietta for 130 AUD with shipping, I have replaced by myself and boom, it works.

They told me same story about vin number and that is a lay, if you are in Sydney you are welcome to come over and we can try will my blue&me work in your car so you can order somewhere else if it works.

Hi Folks (or anybody who can help!) i got my battery changed by the AA on my 2013 giulietta 1.4 and the mileage meter started flashing and the B&M stopped working as described above. I haven't tried to disconnect the battery and reconnect but having researched online and watched a utube video it seems a proxy alignment was required. I phoned the local dealership and said i'd watched this proxy alignment carried out online
and they seemed a bit vague on the phone. They asked me to bring it down and they would take a look. They took the car into the garage where I couldn't see anything. then 10 mins later tell me they tried to reset the B&M module with the kit they have and it wont reboot so I need a new one : ÂŁ300 + ÂŁ105 fitting ! I'm not sure I trust or believe them.It could be that the parts are crap and it needs replacing or it could be that it can be reset and they are not trying very hard understandably as they want business.
Can anyone advise please ? I'm pretty clueless with cars and this fuses thing above sounds like it's worth a try but i have no idea where the fuses are!

I would disconnect the module as the previous battery may have been ok. Just because the module stops working doesn't mean it stops draining current if faulty.

There is repair service on ebay for ÂŁ95 or money back.
Plump for used one about the same price preferably the same part number (but how long will it last)
There are posts which describe replacing the module with something else.

If you do replace it with another blue&me module then you shouldn't need to do a proxy alignment.

Verona/Wbanham....I still have this issue and I have no idea how to disconnect the module ; can someone help with instructions ? Or with a link to this service from ebay to repair the unit ? (I will obviously need to get the unit out and I don't know where to start with that also!) Any help from folks would be greatly appreciated ; I will even share my number for someone to talk me through removal of the unit or disconnection please, thank you, Andrew.

Can't find anything definitive but I'm sure it is just to the left of the radio. I think that piece of dashboard just pulls off and you should see it. There might be a security screw inside the glovebox fixing it in.

When I had my B&M module repaired the chap that did it stated: 'The reason the unit generally fails is that the internal fault memory in the unit (we all know how unreliable they are) becomes full and is therefore unable to operate correctly'. The fix (which requires special equipment) is to clear the fault memory and update the unit. To-date I have not had any issues with the repaired unit and it all works perfectly.
