I have Fiat ECU Scan with adaptor cables. It connects to my 159 2.4 200 07 plate but will not connect to my sons new (to him) 147 51plate 120. Help please.

Check behind the female connector if all wires are in place....some years ago I had a member
with a comlete bundle of cables loose.

Have you changed the latency settings??

OK. It is connected now. I am not really sure of the reason though I do suspect dirty pins.

Yes latency settings had been adjusted prior to attempting to connect.

I also installed the FTDI VCD drivers and that didn't work. Uninstalled the device and drivers and installed FTDI D2XX drivers and that didn't work. I am using WinXP. I have another laptop with Vista and initially that hasn't connected but I haven't retried that PC yet.

Downloaded Alfa Diag. That didn't work. Tried Alfa Diag again and it connected!

Tried FiatECU scan and wouldn't connect.

Tried FiatECUscan and while trying to connect to ECU turned car off and on (don't know why or what risk I took but thought I'd try it) and it connected!

Will it connect tonight? I'll try later!
