flicking through the Tube of You, I wanted to see what Fiat 127 material existed. Found this nice TV ad.

Spot Cinema FIAT 127 - YouTube

There's some ambitious driving over some rough terrain...

What was it with car ads from the 70s that they regularly showed how adept a car was at jumping over things? Is it implied 'toughness' (but like VW used to drop cars?) Guess 'toughness' is safety these days. Anyway, enjoy, even the song's quite jaunty.

The Autobianchi brand was used for preparing some of the engineering the 127 , I seem to recall. But the 127 was the car Ford analysed for the original Fiesta. Groundbreaking as they say.

Great fun! My little 903cc(?) version was that yellow. Didn't need a parachute mind. :)

Not a surprise when you see the side view ;)

I think the "boisterous driving" footage is gone from today's commercials because car ads aren't supposed to encourage potentially dangerous use. I remember Ford got fined by the UK ASA for promoting one of its models as having a fast 0-60 time.

How about the indicators positioned below the headlamps looking similar?

Had a 127 1300GT many years ago. Was a cracking little car.
