hi

hope someone can help. my fuel gauge has always been intermittent (only works accurately between 1/2 and full, empty to 1/2 was a lottery:lol:).

after brimming the tank it went to full then dropped to zero and has never moved since. on start up the low fuel light comes on then turns off, indicating there is fuel in the tank but the needle stays still.

i thought i would test to see if the light would come on when the fuel was low so i ran the car
till it ran out of fuel. the low fuel light did not come on.

is this a case of just swapping the dials over or could it something else?

cheers

jason

The pump/sender unit is fairly easy to remove from the tank and cheap as chips secondhand. The item goes in from the top after you have unscrewed the plate in the floor no need to drop the tank etc.
