I have purchased the cable and downloaded the software to enable reading and resetting of common fault lights on Spiders- so if anyone needs a light investigated or turned off in the S Wales area send me a PM and we can meet up.

Nice one
i have the air bag light on as i took the driver's seat out to be repaired with Jack Smith by St Helen's rd, i also bought a lead for OBD Reader machine that you have as mine is an early one the plug is behind the centre console and not in it's common place of behind the panel lower down to the right of the steering wheel.

Didn't work anyway,so now i hide the light with a bit of tape so it doesn't annoy me.

Hi Llanrads,
If it's red light then I'm pretty sure this means neither passenger nor driver airbag will deploy in an accident. Seems harsh when it's just a wiring glitch, but because it is an explosive charge, designers have to err on the side of caution and turn the whole system off.
Happy to do a reset if you want to meet up, I'm in SA6 5RH
no charge of course, (buy me a coffee at the next Verdi's :cheese:)

The air bag light will be an MOT failure from Jan 2012. That should dramatically reduce the number of Alfa's on the road! I have been told the fault is usually brought on by the poor quality of the yellow connector in the wiring under the drivers seat and some owners have taken the connector out and soldered the wires together to get around the issue. The MOT on my 156jtd Mjet is up in December so that will give me another year to sort it out.
