I have a 5 door 147 and the black plastic bits in the B and C pillars are fading/browning. Tried Auto-Glym plastic restorer but no joy. Anyone had this problem and if so any joy? If it comes down to just replacing would this be a hassle? Any thoughts much appreciated!!

T Cut do a plastic stainer and there are several black stained "polishes" available. I have them all  Bit far from London otherwise you could have had a loan :D

Check Halfords out ;)

Cheers,

Find a local "Chemex" franchisee and ask 'em for "Dash-it"

it really works ! actually works better than Autoglym "Bumper spray"

I don't think however that there is any product that will permanently sort it, you'll just need to keep applying it.

If you DO find one that works really well, please tell !!

Acrylic Black Plastic Paint. Solvent cleaned first, appropriate primer/clear conditioner, after masking up, like new.

I found that the tri stuff made by Williams, available at Halfords, does a great job of bringing greying plastic back to black without looking tarty.

Good one Mave, after re-painting, the secret is to get it looking original, not quite like antique furniture lines, more newish without looking 'Tonced' up.
