Now that I have my GTA I was thinking of changing it:rolleyes: I know the process behind making a giugiaro front and would like to do it. I've seen a red one a few years back at autodelta and thought at the time that that was my perfect GTA. It had the old style rear but with rub strip removed with new front. Looked perfect. (may have had a 3.7 conversion too:whistle::lol:) Anyway I just wondered if anyone else had thought about this or done it and had experiences with it.
I found this which I was going to use as the front end as the facelift bumper was only ever designed for a standard 156. I spoke to the guys here a while back and I can get just the front bumper and spliter which is designed specifically for the GTA wings. .

Except for the Crosswagon Q4 bumper which is matched to the wider wings of the Crosswagon....
So I could have an alfa 156 GTA Facelift Crosswagon B*****D child :cheese:. Saw one of those bumpers cheap on ebay.de the other week :D

Keep thinking about it but then always decide not to because the Autodelta stuff looks "stuck on" to me. Also, if you want to be strictly correct for the GTA in the ETCC, you should not facelift the front end. The GTA branded model that competed and won the 2002 ETCC had the standard front end. The car with the later front end for the 2003 series was an Alfa Romeo 156 Super 2000 and was not branded GTA, so strictly speaking it wouldn't be appropriate for a GTA. And of course neither car has a 3.2 engine, they were tuned 2.0s. But now I am being a nerd.

Stick with the standard GTA look, it really is the best IMO.

I see what you are saying and yeah I'm with you that the GTAm from autodelta is not my cup of tea. I think we got our wires crossed though. The GTA facelift I saw at autodelta was not one of theirs. It still had original GTA sideskirts and rear bumper. No squared off archs. It just had a facelift front smoothed up to normal GTA arches. Looked like a factory production model. It was owned by a norweigen or something. Red with massive brembos and 19' bbs rims. It was so nice.

Yep.
You'd want a set of Crosswagon front wings to go with it though.
Are they that different?

yep that was the one......drool

Facelift wings are different to pre-facelift.

You couldn't fit a facelift bumper, bonnet & lights and keep the original pre-facelift wings.
ah. I was under the impression the wings were the same as the ends of the lights were still the same shape.

Still coming round tomoz eve joss? Got my Q2 fitted today!
Yes mate. I'll text you in a bit to sort a time but 7.30 ok for you?

Really don't like the facelift myself. It looks all wrong to me in the same way as the 159 and brera.
See I'm the other way. I prefer the facelift front. I think they did wonders with the revamp but it does seem to be a very split view.
