Popped into the circuit yesterday to check out the latest 2010 cars. Didn't plan it so forgot to charge my camera and only managed to get a couple of shots out of it. I hope the video I made compensates for the lack of stills! :D

Thanks, really worth going down even if it was a last minute thing. A couple of work mates and myself just grabbed a couple of sarnies and legged it down there and found that we were not the only ones! It was almost like a championship event so many people turned up it was insane.

Cheers, best I could do with a handycam. Used to be a broadcast cameraman years ago. Just a hobby these days. :)

Some photos. Need to get a decent stills camera sorted. Got all the zooms lenses, just have an old 35mm EOS body, time to move into digi territory me thinks (even if you can never get proper reds out of them ). These are done with a humble 4MP Kodak semireflex.

Hey V6junkey, excellent video and still pics, and no signs of rain at that time :) Not sure about the rear fin, another 'ugly' addition this year. The Ferrari looks ok though

It's been raining since wednesday with a break on thursday (the day I went). Yesterday it started again but the teams actually love it when it rains here because you can test dry and wet all in the same day/session/week and get a lot sorted out. The Sauber was doing some serious miles and only went in from time to time only to come right back out again. It was really shifting it some too. Alonso was doing short stints all afternoon in the Ferrari.

I've taken several cars around this circuit (GT, 147 GTA, MiTo...) and seen an 8C and Brera do a few laps but nothing compares to the speed these F1 cars manage. It blows you away the way they flick the things around the corners and just sprint off. Although it's twisty and short it is actually regarded as a fast and very technical circuit. Shame they don't open up for track days but it's council run so they're not bothered. Trying to put a preassure group together to get them to open it up like other circuits around the country. Would love to get the 164 on there!!

Just a quick thanks to everyone who has popped into YouTube to see this video. It is now up in the 10 most popular automotive videos in the last month which menans that the page gets splashed with adverts and I get a few pennies coming my way for every advert that gets a click!! Probably will not earn more than enough buy a beer but there you, my 15 minutes of fame!! :D

Cheers everyone!! :)

What is has provoked is that next time they come down I will be going back to the circuit with better kit and do something a bit more 'planned'. Shame they put a hold on mid season testing so I will have to wait several months before they come back again...
