Hi guys, I fitted quad exhaust rear section and love the look but then come across this video and the sound is stunning!!

I love the deep growl sound.... so how do I achieve this?

My quad exhaust just replaced the last section, everything else is standard. Reading the comments it's ragazzon but checking out the website there are so many different bits.

So not sure what to replace next, is this car anyone's on the forum? Any tips with the ragazzon.

Thanks Jon

Is your quad exhaust silenced or not? Do you still have the centre silencer? Standard cat or sports cat? Standard downpipes or equal length? Cf2 manifold or pre'cat'd cf3 manifold?

This guy has loads of videos up on YouTube and it's easy to get mixed up with T4 CUP which also has videos and a similar set up. Click the little downward arrow and he sometimes gives info on his setup. On the video you have posted it says straight through from cat so he has an unsilenced centre section and and unsilenced rear section (all Ragazzon). However I believe that he found it too much and put the ragazzon mid section that has a very small silencer on. You can hear this on a later video shot on his driveway. You can only get it from Squadra which I think are in Austria but happily ship to uk. You are at the mercy of the euro/pound exhxhange rate!
Best thing to do is watch loads of YouTube videos and gain info from the ones that have described their set up in detail.
Of course it also depends what you've put on as your rear section as to whether you can recreate what you like in the video.

I will go through the rest of the video and see what I can find, thanks james

If it's the last two sections, I wondering if I need this one

As the final section is very similar to what I have I think

That would make it like the video posted in your first post. That would be to loud for me though.

Jon....you only had to look in our Cup list:

No 047 .........Reg: SE51DOJ.......Alfakenny.............Southport

....but I think he's either just sold it or is selling it.

I've played with various exhaust, too many to list, but both the Ragga ones, unsilenced & small silencer, with an unsilenced rear are far too loud...the small silencer one does next to nothing, trust me I've got one fitted with a single silencer Autodelta Quad(see pictures)....absolutely lovely deep sound but with the unsilenced quad......horrendous...virtually the same as totally unsilenced!

The std middle section does all the silencing. Fit a single sports silencer, but not the Ragga, & you should achieve what you're after. A Powerflow centre can make up a centre section using one of their silencers but make sure it's only a small one.....I made the mistake once, asked them to quieten an unsilenced quad system, remove the harshness/volume, & they completely silenced it back to near std sound!

Alfaholics do one, ask them how it sounds with an unsilenced rear: Centre section - 3.0/3.2 V6

Clive have you ever had a raggazon silenced rear quad with straight through centre and a sports cat? If so what was your opinion?

All the advice I've seen is that the middle silencer does most of the work to cut out the "boom" at 2-3,000 RPM. Which you'll want if you are doing significant miles.

Currently, I have the large Ragazzon silencer with unsilenced quads, everything else standard.

It's fairly loud, and probably a bit too unrefined for my liking. As for the boom, it is quite noticeable at 2,500 RPM.. much quieter in top gear at 70MPH rather than 60MPH for example (where speed limits allow..)

But it sounds nice at idle with a deep sound.

Not exactly but I think that would sound good.

CF2 & CF3 models sound different with the same cat-back setup anyway, so trying to make a CF2 sound like a Cup will always be tricky. CF2s tend to sound smoother and higher pitched I'd say. Fitting CF2 manifolds to a CF3 still leaves you with a generally CF3-sounding exhaust but just with waaaay more volume. Its the big mid cat/silencer on the CF2s that makes the most difference I reckon, not the manifolds.

Jon - I would google Gazella Racing before you place an order, as you would before ordering anywhere of course ;) It doesn't hurt to do a bit of background checking to make sure you are dealing with a reputable company.

I wish there was a video on Youtube of someone with a std CF2 or CF3 with just a Wizard silenced cat-back, every single one I've seen is the unsilenced version which sound fantastic but not at all subtle. The silenced version barely gets any attention. Someone in the GTA lounge has just fitted one to his 156 GTA and done a review if anyone is interested - same sort of effect on the GTV (identical backbox internals but different system & tailpipe lengths):

Thanks for all the info and input guys, i haven't ordered yet as been doing a lot of reading from all the websites recommended. I want a load exhaust with that Italian sound but not boomy on the motorway.

Bradpit that sound is great off the videos, meeting up would be great. I'm now in castle Donington so not far.

Clive thanks for all the info I'm sure you have had a fair few different systems, the autodelta one looks nice and well priced, I had a look under my car and mine looks the same except it's not Shiney lol! Reading the description they seem to know there stuff and although I want my exhaust load not boy racer.

Pus thanks for the tip with gazelle racing I will check out there website.

Ahh so much choice I don't want to get it wrong, might have to get two lol

From what you say I think you'd be best going for the wizard setup, heard so many happy people after they've had them fitted.

Yes....but no!

As he's already bought the unsilenced quad rear section, he's after a decent sounding 'silenced' centre section. The Ragga small silencer one will be too loud....quite a few people on here have had them & then changed to something quieter. I know as I bought a nearly new one from a member, fitted it to an unsilenced quad sytem & it was still too loud....that's why I combined it with a single silencer quad.

This one would prob be ok, similar I expect to the Alfaholic's one: Alfa Spider und Alfa GTV Ragazzon Edelstahl Mittelschalldämpfer - Alfa Romeo Shop - Tuning, Styling, Fanartikel und Modellautos

Also I do know a local car with twin silenced quad & unsilenced centre, I'm sure a std cat, that sounded ace, prob Ragga.

The underneath cat(s) doesn't seem to affect the sound much if at all. I've changed a CF3 sports & CF2 hollowed out & pretty much sounded, & performed, the same.
