Hi,

An old friend of mine brought me eni i-Sint MS 5W-40 for 2011 Guilietta QV but I am not sure whether to use it or not because it does not have FIAT 9.55535-S2 certificate... All other specs are OK. Any idea? A comparison between a Fiat certified Selenia is as below...

eni i-Sint MS Selenia Star Pure Energy
SAE Grade 5W-40 5W-40
Density at 15 °C kg/m³ 860 852
Viscosity at 100 °C mm²/s 13,1 14,3
Viscosity Index 174 175
Flash Point °C 230 >200
Pour Point °C -36 < -36

BR,
I wouldn't use it if I was you. If anything major goes wrong with your car AR is more inclined to help it it is running the right oil. Not worth taking a chance.

I think that eni is Full SAPS (ACEA A3), while QV needs mid SAPS (?) - ACEA C3.

MS means Mid-saps, and it does have an ACEA C3 rating.

it's also has noack less than 10%.

It's fine for use in an MA, I'm not sure the QV requires the same spec?

Hi,

It is not different with QV... It just says FIAT 9.55535-S2 specs SAE 5W-40 ACEA C3.... So MS can be used in my opinion...?

The Fiat spec for the QV is:
FIAT 9.55535-GH2
OEM Oil: "SELENIA SPORT POWER"

My car a 2011 GQV (1750) with 44K miles on it has just had its major service with cam & aux belts, guide rollers and tensioners, also water pump replaced. Most of the original parts have since seen AR code changes by the way, some to 4C spec parts incidentally.

Back to oil type/grade the garage/dealer, I use a garage that specialises in Integrale servicing and mods for these great rally cars.
Walkers Lancia (South Otterington) use Fuchs Racing Oil for the Integrale's and my meagre GQV by comparison over the last few years. After realising how easily and quickly Selenia oil was braking down and forming tiny carbon deposits that could even be seen on the dip stick and inside the yellow filler cap. The engine oil with selenia looked more like a dirty diesel's, now with Fuchs its s any petrol engined car should be in colour, a light golden tint in appearance and no carbon deposits to be seen. Also no engine issues too, or anything else come to that.
