From memory I'd disconnect power steering at pump if you can rather than rack, remove aux belt and tensioner, aircon pump held out of way, possibly fan shroud, plastic inlet off.

Engine crane would be good too

Oh and I replaced the brake pipes for both front brakes in kunifer whilst engine was out and cleaned up gearchange stuff at bulkhead too

Is it a V6?
I just took mine out and it was a bugger for clearance.

There are two gear shift cables going to the transmission - both connected to the gearbox by little ball joints that popped off with a lever. Not pins with clips as shown in the workshop manual.
