Hi all, just got a 2007 159 2.2 jts and the engine is making a hell of a noise, am seem to be on the timing chain side of the engine, what should I look for if this is failing ?? Does the chain actually snap in the end, I've only had the car a day, the power is amazing and no problems there, can someone help me rule out the chain? Could the noise be something else ??

Engine management light on?
Any codes showing up when you plug in the diagnostics?
Presumably it wasn't making the noise when you bought it?
A snapping chain does seem to be a very rare thing but it has happened in other GM cars.
Get it down the garage pronto.

No engine management light on at all throughout all reaves , but the bloke did say something about electro valve as its variable timing, could them failing cause the noises it's making ??
