Back in May my EML light came on. Giulia 2.2D 2018.

Several dealer visits later it's now had a new battery and thermostat and sender. At the cost of over £1500.

After 2 weeks the EML is on again. After 6 days at the dealer they are advising a new rear view mirror...

I've lost confidence they know how to fix it.

Someone tell me it's worth persevering...or time to let go..

What’s their thought process for needing a rear view mirror for an EML?
Also £1500 sounds rather steep for battery, stat and sender. Have they given you any fault codes from it.
I wouldn’t give in just yet I would pull it out of the dealer and find a decent Alfa specialist.

What were the error codes at the first and second time? Could be different issues. Was the old battery still the OE fitment?

yes, go to a good dealer who can diagnose the error codes. I had the EML come on a few months ago and the system spat out 3 pages of error codes and most of these were a consequence of the root cause which was a failing relay.

@zacepi where are you located? Readers of this forum may be able to recommend a good workshop near you. Most UK AR dealers' workshops are not good. The one who charged you £1,500 seems to be one of the less good ones.

MES website is www.multiecuscan.net which provides much relevant info and from which software can be downloaded.

Best UK site for adaptors or for multiplex version of MES is probably www.gendan.co.uk.

Your March 2018 car might just be pre-SGW. Gendan sell the SGW by-pass, if you find you need one.

If you car has an SGW, it does not prevent you reading error codes, but it does prevent you resetting them.

Hope this helps,
