Hi - has anyone any suggestions on what might be going on with the following alfa diag codes. The engine goes into limp mode soon after starting and clearing the codes. Replacing the bits is last resort....

Failed Component Code: Throttle Valve potentiometer
Fault Symptom: Signal Not Valid
Warning Lamp Status: Warning Lamp Illuminated
Fault Test State: Test not complete for this Error.
Fault Code Storage State: Error Present at time of request
Event Count: 64 count
Filter Count: 0 count
Environmental Condition One: Engine Speed: 46 rpm
Environmental Condition Two: Standardised Load: 72 %

Hi as soon as i read Failed Component Code: Throttle Valve potentiometer, i remember a multitude of threads on this.

From memory there is a cable that runs along the right hand side of the passenger foot well which if bumped or whatever happens to it will cause this error.

Do a search and it should come up it is a common problem from memory......

Thanks SPiderme, yes I checked through the threads at length and did the resoldering tip. No diff though. Have bought another throttle body in the hope that will clear it up. WIll update when I have it.

Not yet still waiting on it to arrive from the ebay sellr. hopefully not to much longer. Being in New Zealand is a bit of a drag for getting parts...
