My 155 2.0 TS 16V engine has just started cutting out at speed - slightly worrying as you can imagine, almost as if the fuel supply is being cut off.

What happens is that the rev counter drops to zero, the oil level light flickers and then all the ignition lights come on. The power steering and brake servo assistance are also lost.

Once I have recovered the car to the side of the road (in one piece) it restarts as if there is no problem. That is until you drive off and it happens again about half a mile down the road.

Has anyone else experienced such a problem?

Your help is urgently required!!!!!!

Regards

Hi Paul

My mate had this problem with his 2.0 8v. It was a corroded fuel pump relay. Its worth checking all the relays situated under the 2 black covers in front of the battery. I'm sure there are plenty of other things it could be and plenty more folk will help

Mike thanks for your help. It seems to have cured the problem. The connectors at the base of the relay were corroded causing a poor connection. These have now been cleaned up and all is now ok.

Many Thanks
