What's your battery like?
Check the fuses and wiring also try cleaning the window switch with electrical contact cleaner (not WD40).

Does the 156 JTS have a CANBUS system? (I've got the same car and I don't know!). From what I understand a failed drivers side window switch can cause havoc with CANBUS.
