ANybody have this? I know of one racecar assembler here who has electronic ignition, but hasn't yet divulged what he's using? Anybody try Pertronix yet or am I going to be the guinea pig?

hi El, try spittronix, dont know their number but they specialise in electronic ignition.But why do you want electronic ignition?Hears its not that cool only takes you out of the dark ages and no more worying about "punte"lol...

My main reason is install and forget. The price is R860 from supplier in simons town and I've read good reviews about spark reliability on the landie forums. I am going to get it plus bosch 548 plugs. Much better design than conventional plugs. Car is running so sweetly after the weekly fiddle! 7.5k comes up so quickly in first three gears and gone up to 6.1 in fifth now! Wish I had the longer fifth like the later cars...

Will GPS it. The standard motor's power peaks at 5500, and I need to make sure my revs are reading correctly. My clock shows about 185, but I have a +-7% underreading at 100km/h (GPS reads 107.6 clock says 100). My rev counter also overreads , but I am going to leave it as is for now. The wheels I have on now reduced the speedo underreading a bit because of the smaller rolling diameter, but it still underreads. I need to adjust the speedo itself for it to read the cable rotation accurately, which is a nightmare. I wish I had a longer open stretch to run it on...

We should do the run from Goodwood to Langebaan, you can easily reach 200+ on the road without traps (I have the locations, know the pigs and have a scanner :thumbs

Gearing will prevent that, I'm sure! I can't imagine breaking the 2 century in my car, but it feels rock solid at speed - just so freaking noisy!

Seems like the old Alfas all had issues with under reading speedos, my rally car speedo also under reads, approx 7% with brand new tyres and approx 4% with worn down tyres.Just another little thing to worry about when doing speed, time and distance calcs on a rally.

the temp was 39.5.. i distinctly rememebr it casue we were waiting for that .5 to hit 40.. oh and i was slowing down casue i saw the camera... no power brake then
