Hi,

Im having problems with my EGR valve leaking. When Fully closed it leaks boost pressure.
I have disassembled completely and cleaned it numerous times but I still have this problem.

I fitted a blanking plate but I'm obviously getting the engine fault light.

Is it possible to have the EGR delete software mod without having a full re-map?

Thanks!

How do you re-write alterations in software without a remap?:D

Where is the sensor that causes the engine management light to come on? I'm assuming you've blocked the inlet to the EGR - as I have, but I was wondering if the sensor is within the EGR itself so by blocking the outlet side the engine management light would stay off?

OK thanks, guess I need a remap then!

No, in a nutshell, ECU measures airflow at the intake (before turbo), and if the airflow doesn't change as it should when EGR is active, engine management light comes on...
- are you sure your right? I thought it was the MAP sensor the inlet manifold that could tell if the EGR valve was operating correctly?
