EGR Cheater / Simulator

Hello to all.

I have posted this as part of another thread, but thought it deserved it's own thread to get some attention.

Has anyone tried an EGR cheater / simulator on a JTD? And if so, what were the results?

Link to one below.

Essentially, it's a small harness and a chip that connects between the MAF sensor, MAF sensor harness and the EGR harness that effectively lets you blank off and unplug the EGR without getting a check engine light. I assume that it fools the ECU into thinking that the EGR is plugged in and working, even though it is 100% blanked off. For those of us who don't want to go the full remap, maybe this is an option,

Comments or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

The Fixitsan dongle (if you can find one) is even easier - it just cancels the warning via the OBD socket
I certainly wouldn't want to have an electrical connection open to the elements. Bad design.

Yes, I thought that too. However I think it would only take a little extra effort to encase it. Mind you, should be included.

I have ordered one to see how it goes.
