I know these are well intended posts, but surely making the entire forum aware of an ebay 'bargain' is ultimately gonna push the price up & defeat the object of posting in the first place

I suppose if you aren't bidding yourself you are at least bringing a potential good deal to the attention of others. Once the price goes up you're no worse off than if someone else had bid on it so I think it's OK tbh. Free market and all that.
