Hi everyone ,my 166 has developed a bit of a problem over the last few days ,namely that when starting from cold it is becoming a bit of a pig until it warms up .It pops ,bangs ,snuffles and generally misbehaves for a few minutes ,but as some temperature builds it seems to slowly die away .It generally feels like it is about to run out of petrol .(It's not!)

I know that my MAF is on it's way out so I am thinking it is either a further degeneration of the MAF or something like a temperature sensor gone down somewhere.

Does anyone have any experience of similar symptons?

Many thanks

Antony

sounds like too much fuel is going into it, I has similar symptons on a Dedra and as yuo suspect, it was the temp sensor for the fuel injection. That too sorted itself out after 10 miles or so, it was either on or off with no in between.

try unplugging the MAF and see if that sorts the idle fuelling? A temp sensor would be my other guess as well...

Split airbox-to-intake pipe? Mine was and I had similar symptoms. Bit of self-sealing tape fixed it...
