Hello. I am an author and I have a question. Did the earliest Alfas (circa 1909) have any aluminium in their engines? Or did the use of aluminium occur later in Alfa Romeo history? If, so, where was it used in the engines?
Hope someone can advise.

Looks like the aluminium head of the 1900 was the first in 1950 but I'm still looking...

The Darraq of 1908 didn't.

EDIT:
The RL of 1925 had aluminium pistons
The 6C 1500 Normale of 1927 had an aluminium crankcase
The 1900 GT of 1932 saw an aluminium head being introduced.
The 8C 2300 of 1931 had an aluminium block with pressed in steel liners.

...if you need more please feel free to ask :D Do you want to know about other bits such as the intake manifolds or simply the oily bits?

Earliest I can find is:

8C 2300
Year Of Production: 1931 – 1934
Engine: 8 Cylinders In Line,2 Piece Engine Block In Light Alloy, Steel Struts.

Does that count??
