Hi all, after some advice from those in the know, my duetto hood frame is in pretty poor condition, bushes sloppy and a couple of breaks which have been repaired with a bracing plate. It works, but is not great, can be difficult to raise and lower, needs a fair bit of help. My question is does anyone know a specialist who can refurb the frame? The hood cover is almost new and I know there are plenty of hood suppliers, but its the frame I need sorted. I did find a company in germany OKP who will supply a new frame but at an eyewatering €4,750 plus shipping! which i would rather not spend, I am sure my frame can be refurbished for less than this.

Which parts have been repaired? The most common parts that break are the two vertical "B pillars". You can have those fixed by a competent welder/fabricator. This upright piece was poorly repaired at sometime in the past. I took it to my fabricator. He cut it and welded it. He felt a brace would make it stronger, so I let him put that in. He used some rivets that I am not familiar with. The repair is so strong, I almost asked him to brace the other side.

I bought some nylon bushes from a local Alfa guy. Unfortunately, they are not being made any more. Any machinist can make you a set of these if you give him the frame parts to measure. I used a bit of lithium grease when I assembled the frame. The frame has absolutely no slop in it.
