Mine didn't but has dropped two bars since an oil and filter change 2000 miles ago. Should I be worried or looking for leaks?

I am assuming so, an Alfa specialist did the oil and filter change. It did drop one bar quite soon afterwards so it could be the fill was "just". I did have an oil leak previously that was fixed and they advised me that it wasn't leaking at all when it was serviced. I will have a check when the weather improves, not crawling under the car in the rain, I'll just put some oil in for the moment.

Use the dipstick rather than the dash gauge, I have not found them to give repeatable results.

I usually fill these engines to just over the halfway mark on the dipstick, rather than filling them up to the full as some of them have a tendency to drop a bit of diesel in the oil over time which bumps the level up.

I think 159/Brera owners should really think about shorter oil change intervals, half the ones I get in here have that notorious turbo siren noise and I'm sure turbo wear is only down to oil condition.

Mine uses a fair bit, never really checked ml per miles, but at a guess, maybe 500ml per 2000 miles. Almost as bad as my old twin spark. Oil and filter change very year, no oil leaks. That's with Fuchs Titan pro s oil which I've been using for around 3 years, so i don't remember what it was like with the original spec oil.

I change my oil/filter every 10,000mls and it uses about 0.5ltr during that time, not bad really.

I have not added a drop go oil to my Brera 2.4 in over 6000 miles, car has done 106K. Now some of this may be diesel leakage into the sump. Oil change this week as (hopefully) off to the dark continent soon.

My wife's tends to get done annually which is about 9,000 miles. I usually put in half a litre between services and that is for general stop start driving and max mileage about 10 miles total.

Mine is rather erratic - seems to depend on the kind of trip I am using it for. I've got through about 3 litres of oil in around 70,000 miles and 6 years. That's with annual oil changes - I usually have the oil changed with the MOT, regardless of what the service indicator is saying.

neither my 2.4 or the current 2.0 use any measurable amount of oil over the oci. The level stays where I put it.

mine does but i have many leaks from many places... had it since early december, already put a litre/litre and a half in it... keep meaning to have a look but a new arrival is too needy so its 'on the list'
