Hi all, I've a guilietta 1.6 jtdm VELOCE and my engine warning lights on, has been couple months .. As soon as it came on I took it to my local non Alfa garage and he did a diagnostic test, he said two error codes came up which his system didn't recognise, my dna only stays in normal mode & my stop / start no longer works so I'm guessing this would be the two error codes that came up, does anyone know the cost of fixing these issues & has anyone else had the same problem ? I recently had the engine warning light come on... took it to the main dealer to investigate.

The stop /start system was also faulty.

The codes were cleared and the stop/start system was rectified. The new EGR valve fitted sorted the engine warning light . Cost for that was a tad over £400

Until you get the error codes identified the cost will be impossible to estimate.

Have you tried searching for an Indie Alfa specialist to get the codes read?

S/S and the DNA switch are ALWAYS disabled in limp mode.

Why don't you take it to a garage that can at lest recognize the codes i.e. an Alfa specialist.

...or get the proper software and read the codes yourself ?

Any error code almost will disable start/stop and DNA. they might not be specific error codes for either system.

Craig, You can get a program called Multiecuscan that will cost you about £65 to get the software and leads to diagnose the codes yourself. Then it should just be a case of fitting new parts. Does your total mileage tacho flash? This indicates that something has been fitted that the CANbus doesn't recognise and your car will need a "PROXY RE-ALIGNMENT" you can also do this with Multiecuscan. I have no connection with the seller of the software but it is recognized on this site as the best you can get for DIY maintenance, and Janislav is very very helpful if you have problems.
