Hi All,
I am in the process of buying a 2.0,147 TS Lusso. I am an experienced DIY car  mechanic and have fitted cam belts and rebuilt many cars and engines in my time, but I have no experience of Alpha's.
Is it possible to do your own work on these cars, or do you need specialist tools, particularly for cam belt changes?

you need cam locking tools (as a minimum) for the cam belt but it's not that tricky....have a wee look here for more info on cam belt change....

May be teaching granny to suck eggs, but if you're planning to change the belt, make sure you change the tensioners and pulleys too. Its not the belts that snap on 156s, its the bearings in the pulley's that fail, so just swapping the belt won't protect you....
