Difference between Veloce and Super?

Hi folks, my 159 SW has been giving me so much hassle lately and despite several attempts by my local Alfa specialist, we can't seem to solve the problem so I'm considering chopping her in for something newer or more reliable.

One of the options is a Giulia, with a Veloce at my nearest FIAT/Alfa showroom available under 25k while I've spotted several Supers several grand less. What's the difference in terms of standard kit that you get in the Veloce that isn't found as standard on the Supers?

All the models I've seen are 2017 models which I swear were priced much lower this time last year. Are there issues with this vintage or was it mostly the 2017 Quads that had teething issues that got ironed out in subsequent years based on what I've heard and read?

Firstly the veloce has 280hp but super is 200hp. Upgraded brakes, Xenon headlights, heated steering wheel, heated seats, more aggressive front bumper and rear diffuser.
Yeah prices have definitely gone up. I spoke to someone who bought a 18 plate veloce for only ÂŁ18k around this time last year. Now it would be minimum ÂŁ22k for similar

Thanks for the reply, should have prefaced it with the fact that I already knew that the Veloce was mapped to 280bhp while the Super was nerfed to 200 but would often show 230 bhp on a dyno, also about the gear paddles on the Veloce which I believe was a rare optional extra for the Super?

Correct me if I'm wrong but the engine and turbo are the same on both so a remap would bring same levels of performance circa 330bhp apparently? That much power from a Super makes it a very appealing proposition so wanted to know the main difference in terms of features and kit outside of the hood/bonnet so to speak to help decide if the price premuim of the Veloce was worth it.

It's quite annoying being in the market for a car right now with the silicone shortage affecting supply and demand all the way down to old banger cars. Even older Alfas such as the 159s and Guiliettas have gone up a fair few percentage.

I'm new to the Giulia fraternity, so can't offer much insight, but my 2017 Super is a diesel with 180bhp. I thought "Super" simply referred to the trim level before options (8.8 inch display versus 6.5 inch on the base model, inch bigger alloys, etc). Happy to be proven wrong - I found the name/trim level very confusing when I was looking! Fortunately I knew the engine I wanted and the price I wanted to pay, which narrowed it down enormously (to 2 within 150 miles!)

If you can find a Super with the Lusso pack then you get full leather (better) seats electrically adjustable and heated. heated steering wheel leather dash and door capping and the larger infotainment screen. Now I cant remember if it was part of another pack or option I bought separately on mine, but I have flappy paddles and 35W Bi-Xenon headlights, folding mirrors. I also upgraded to the 18" five spoke wheels and twin exhaust tips. The 200bhp engine is exactly the same as the Veloce, the front end is the same, the rear diffuser is different and the brakes are a little smaller, but they are brakes like none others!

Later 200bhp engines are slightly different to the early ones.

Any idea what my spec is as I can’t seem to find much on it
2017 super
Red full leather interior manual adjustment
Paddle shifts
Front and rear sensors
18inch 5 hole staggered wheels
Large red callipers
If it has full leather, it should have electric seats?? Does it have a leather dash?

It's worth finding a super with the optional folding rear seats which I think are standard on the veloce. I had to wait a long time to find one. I've noticed a few of the brand new sprint versions on autotrader don't even have this.

Thats a point I also have split folding rear seats

My first Giulia Super 2.0 had those 17" wheels but the 7 hole design which made it look bigger. It also had lots of options like split rear seats, 25W xenons, rear camera, convenience pack, paddles, coloured calipers and more. It was remapped to 330hp by Celtic Tuning as the turbo and engine is the same as Veloce on the early models. The latest ones are a bit different.
The biggest let down on the Super for me was the manual standard seats which had NO lumbar support or seat angle tilt which made it very uncomfortable for me. The Veloc also does not have seat tilt so some owners fit a spacer to angle the seat up. I used longer bolts and washers but now there is a commercial solution from the USA.

Here is a how to:

And my original post from a few years back:

The OP will be lucky if he can find an example like my old one with all the options, quite rare, especially if he can get the ones with Lusso Pack as @Top Down suggested, these have lumbar and seat tilt minus the sports bolsters in the Veloce seats.

And oh! The the super also came with a single exit exhaust. I fitted a new plastic diffuser from the diesel with the twin outlet and upgraded it to a Remus twin outlet cat back exhaust.

Maybe then the heated and electric seats came with the Lusso pack. My 35W lights came with a lighting pack. I'm very disappointed though as I did not get a cargo net.

🤭 it was the day I picked the car up.

A bit pissed off! I just spent a couple of days clay barring and polishing it, finished yesterday, its now covered in a desert!

I love that light lusso interior. Unfortunately mine is black leather with black dash and dark aluminium trim which may as well be black. The only thing I'm not keen on with the lusso pack is the chrome window trim.
The 7 hole alloys are my next favourite after the 5 hole ones.
I was lucky to get a 2nd hand Super specced like mine. Most for sale now look to be quite standard.
